Ai Weiwei: The unilever series at the tate modern
The turbine hall was filled with ceramic sunflower seeds, which very much took me for being 'art for art's sake' as surely it would have been better to have just planted this many sunflower seeds, but after watching the video it seemed it was more about the individuality of the thousands of sunflower seeds and the villagers who made them, and the fact that Weiwei was able to give so many people work which they were paid for for the amount of time it took to make the sunflower seeds.
