Temple Newsam House

Last week we visited Temple Newsam house on the outskirts of Leeds to collect inspiration for our next project, I thought the house was absolutely amazing and found it quite interesting to an extent as I quite like finding out about the past but some parts weren't that interesting. I felt a little let down when i found out most of the artefacts were not originally from the house but were brought in from other places but really this should have been expected, I quite liked finding out about the 'Blue Lady' and some other ghost stories from the house.

Leeds City art gallery

I have been asked to conduct an image analysis of something i have seen in Leeds city art gallery, fair enough, but writing it in the tome, style and manner of either Ruskin, Baudelaire or Kandinsky I cannot do "When [blue] sinks almost to black, it echoes a grief that is hardly human. When it rises towards white...its appeal to men grows weaker and more distant." Kandinsky 1911, ok well here goes...

Fabric dying workshop

Today I attended a fabric dying workshop to learn and to have the ability to go and use the fabric dying facilities whenever i want, when the room is free that is. I found this useful and hope it will come into use in the future, i didn't actually get to dye anything but would like to go in and have a practise and produce some samples of different shades of dying some time soon.
